Are you coming to Norwich for your exchange at the University of East Anglia? If so, read on to find out the various ways of getting here. Remember to book as soon as tickets are released, or as soon as possible afterwards, to make sure you get the cheapest tickets for your chosen travel dates and times.

To travel to the UK and get to Norwich, you have three main options:

  • Fly - there are direct flights to Norwich Airport from Amsterdam with KLM (www.klm.com), as well as European and domestic flights to/from a number of destinations with various airlines, in particular Flybe (www.flybe.com). There are also good transport links between Norwich and London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London Stansted Airports (see "Bus" below).  You can also investigate transport from other large international airports such as Luton, Bristol and Manchester, or smaller airports such as London City or Southend. ESN also has a partnership with Brussels Airlines allowing you to get return flights from Brussels to the UK, including 52kg of luggage, for only 199€ - ask us for details.
  • Train - the Eurostar connects London with Paris, Lille and Brussels with frequent services all day, usually hourly. Norwich has good rail links, with direct trains to London with Greater Anglia, and Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool with East Midlands Trains. To book train tickets on any British train route, you can use one of many websites; prices will normally be the same on almost all websites, but some charge a booking fee - to avoid these fees book with websites such as www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk.
  • Bus - Eurolines (www.eurolines.co.uk) and Megabus (www.megabus.co.uk) operate international journeys between London and various European cities. National Express (www.nationalexpress.com) and Megabus also operate services from central London to Norwich, and National Express also operates a direct service connecting Norwich to Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted Airports.
  • A combination - don't forget that you can combine more than one travel type - e.g. catch the Eurostar to London then take a coach to Norwich. The possibilities are (almost) endless!
